SPORTSMANSHIP FIRST TROPHY

An SF award scheme is being extended and developed to enable schools and clubs to purchase an engraved handshake trophy for presentation. SF is a voluntary organisation and this will help us continue to deliver SF foundation workshop to more schools in a wider area.

SPORTSMANSHIP FIRST FOUNDATION WORKSHOPS

Innovative workshops combine the power of theatrical storey telling with fun sports activities. SF openly explores spectator and participant emotions, at the point of victory or loss as a route to develop a meaningful understanding of why “it is the taking part that counts”. SF promotes competition as a fact of life.

Primarily SF strives to empower children with the confidence and self esteem to encourage and praise each other, using a simple range of transferable skills. As part of its national sustainability programme, SF wishes to train teaching students to present SF workshops in schools as a valuable placement requirement. An experience that encourages The Big Society.

SPORTSMANSHIP FIRST AWARDS

Sportsmanship First aims to raise the profile of sportsmanship in schools and clubs, by presenting at the start of term, a recyclable ‘Head Teachers/ Coach’s Sportsmanship First Award’. The award is usually presented to an individual who has demonstrated a sustained change in attitude or for a noticed incidence of good sportsmanship.

You can support Sportsmanship First by purchasing a handshake trophy, as illustrated, for your school or club. The cost is £30 inclusive of school/club name and p&p. We believe that wider support for this initiative will result in a remarkable change.
